I have just been diagnosed with hsv2 and i am devastated! It was discovered during my routine annual. I had my first outbreak 2 months ago but have been celibate for 4 years. I thought i had a little cut from washing too hard. I had sex the night before my diagnosis but with a condom. First time in 4 years and it was rough which caused an outbreak. Is it possible to transmitt to others although we used a condom and I never suspected i had it?I cant believe it was dormant all those years.

My doctor told me with an active outbreak my kids could possibly catch it from the toilet seat. If they caught it I would be in my darkest of times. How likely is this. I heard hsv1 could live for weeks on surfaces. I'm now using the basement toilet but I fear it is to late. I am very concerned.

I hate it when they call to give you the news and tell you this is something you will live with for the rest of your life... does this mean there is never going to be a vaccine/cure??????? oh lawd

i was only diagnosed few days ago so i am still very new to this, i still hate myself for living such a promiscuous life, i am 31years old and i have only had sex without condoms three times in my whole life, just to say I have been very very careful, guess this last one gave me this and i still hate myself for believing her to be clean from all sort of Stds.

My husband had a wart, for lack of a better term, on his penis. We had oral sex when 8 felt it & told him to go to the doctor. I found out he has HPV but, I do not. I now am positive he must have cheated on me in order to get that STD. Am I correct? I now have some sores in my mouth & am very worried. What doctor should I go to to check my mouth out?

I was just diagnosed with HSV-2. During my first outbreak I didn't masturbate for 2 weeks so the sores could heal. My question is, After sores have healed and you masturbate, and accidentally touch your face to scratch an itch or any other area, will it spread to that area of your body?

I am reconnecting with someone I dated before I found out I had herpes. I have it she does not. If she were to touch me with her hand could the herpes be transmitted to he? If we were stimulating each other with our hands could the virus be transmitted?

I've had hsv1 genital for 15 years. After I was with my last partner (who had hsv2 genital), I broke out in a few bumps on my pubic area. This was accompanied with moderate itching. Two of the bumps became sores. I went to doctor and was put on valacyclovir (1 week) which helped slightly. Sores healed but bumps and itching returned. Took meds (another week) but bumps/ itching return..they are in other spots but still pubic area. Haven't been sexually active in 6 weeks..not sure what to do?
